Research Dossier Target

Company facts according to our research

Ask the questions people actually type — how many employees, who owns it, what the slogan is, what industry it is in — and read the answer according to our research, with its date. Look up any company by name.

Employees, size, and headcount

Headcount queries all hit the same field. We prefer the newest point-in-time qualifier so two historical totals are not shown side by side as if both were current.

Slogan, mission, industry, and HQ

Motto, industry, headquarters, country, and chief executive are separate research fields. Mission-style copy is included only when our research has it — we do not invent a mission statement.

Frequently asked questions

How many employees does a company have?

Search the name. If our research has an employee count we show the latest dated figure, not an average of old figures.

What is the company slogan or motto?

We only show a slogan when our research has motto text. If it does not, we say so rather than inventing one.

Who owns the company?

Ownership uses current “owned by” and parent organization facts according to our research. Ended or outdated claims are excluded.

Is this only for Target stores?

No. Search any firm here, or open the Target company page for retailer employees, slogan, and history. Store-count questions use whatever location facts our research actually has.
